10th Dan Black Belt

Mr. Larry Wheeler, a "legitimate" 10th degree Black Belt, is a product of the Allen Steen Chung Do Kwon style Tae Kwon Do System. He received his Black Belt from Mr. Steen's Texas Karate Institute in 1971. The Allen Steen system was one of the most highly respected and feared Tae Kwon Do school systems during the 60's and 70's. During this time, the Allen Steen system produced more respected, national tournament champions, and Black Belts than any other school systems around. Mr. Wheeler has carried on this champion tradition in his school, winning numerous tournaments in addition to producing an impressive Black Belt Champion Family Tree.

Mr. Wheeler's blend of training from a rawer, older era, mixed in with modern concepts is excellent. He is continually stressing quality training over quantity belts. The Black Belts he has produced are among some of the best ever seen. He continually reminds his students that "the man makes the belt, not the belt makes the man". He pushes his students to strive to obtain the awesome power and speed that it took to survive the Blood and Guts Texas Era of martial arts.

"I am very fortunate to know and have the respect of
Grand Master Larry Wheeler.

He and I have a mutual friendship and respect for each other that will not fade. We both share a love for the martial arts and very high standard of excellence for karate. This standard includes dedication and work ethic on the student's part, as well as commitment from the instructor. Knowing those are major keys to success, they remain a high priority for us in order to meet our goals and help others excel and meet their goals
with karate and with life.

We accept the never ending learning curve and strive to be positive contributors of the lifestyle and the sport. We both understand the importance of passing on the martial arts in a positive way and leading by example. It is tradition and responsibility of our rank,
those issues are taken seriously.

Earning a Black Belt is a worthwhile goal to set and reach but being one with character is much more complex and demanding. We can reap what we sow, it is our job to keep sowing the seeds of respect
in the community and in our own lives."
